Three top websites for finding a Bosch oven element.

The title may seem a little too specific, but I recently had an experience where I needed to find an oven element for my Bosch electric cooker. I was pretty comfortable with attempting the repair myself, as there are many helpful sites on the internet explaining how to perform this relatively easy task, so with the web being so helpful in that respect, I decided that using the internet to find the actual cooker spare part would be a useful exercise too.

In doing so I decided to collate what I thought, in my opinion, were 3 top sites on the internet that proved helpful for finding domestic appliance spare parts in general and, in particular, the oven element for my Bosch electric cooker.

First there are a couple of things you might want to make a note of before you embark on your quest for spares, as I'm assuming you probably do not have the exact same cooker as myself - you may not even have an oven, but nevertheless this is still a useful guide even if it is a washing machine spare part you need, or for that matter a spare part for any domestic appliance.

  1. Make a note of the exact model number of the domestic appliance you are looking for. That includes whether it is a Bosch like mine, or Neff, or Siemens or whatever it may be.  This might seem to be an obvious point, but it can be easily overlooked in the eagerness to get searching for the relevant part.
  1. If you can, take a note of the serial number of the actual spare part you need.  For me it was pretty straightforward because an oven element for the type of Bosch cooker I owned was always going to be obvious, but if, for example, it is a thermostat for a washing machine you need then there can sometimes be several different choices.
  1. Don't automatically go for the cheapest and most convenient spare part that you find.  Sometimes the spare part is cheap for a reason - it is not as durable.  Sometimes it can be better to spend a little more to make sure you get quality.  Try to take some time out to do a little research on the specific part or the reputation and customer service of the company selling it.  There are lots of forums and reviews on line all at the click of a button.

Or, if you haven’t got time to be doing all the research yourself, then luckily for you, I’ve done some of it for you.  As was promised at the top, when searching for a Bosch cooker element, these are what I considered to be 3 really good sites;

  1. Bosch, Neff and Siemens Parts Centre

It is not often you find a site dedicated to specific manufacturers and this certainly made a refreshing change.  Sure, the site itself is not an all singing and dancing, can do everything even if you don't need it, type of website, but, to borrow a phrase, it did exactly what it says on the tin.  It was clear and easy to navigate and within a couple of clicks I was able to find the cooker element I needed.  There was even a choice for me to have a genuine, made by Bosch part or a non genuine, cheaper version.  After doing a little research on the net in forums and speaking directly with the owners of the company, who answer the order lines personally, I have no hesitation in giving this site the number one spot.

  1. Ezee-fix Ltd

Now, as it turns out this is the parent company of the number one choice.  Nevertheless I could not help giving it number two spot because of the very reasons above: Choice, personal customer service and quality.  This is their main website and not only do they offer the choice of Bosch, Neff and Siemens parts as mentioned above but much, much more besides.  This site also has a really useful search function on the home page to allow you to find the appliance spare part you need quickly and easily.

  1. Wonder How To?

This is a great website, using tutorial videos to help you on a simple and visual step by step process on how to change the cooker element.  Not only did they have a video that was quick and easy to find, showing me within minutes how to change the oven element on my Bosch, but they have hundreds of videos on all sorts of subjects, so it is well worth bookmarking if you have to go back to choices number 1 or 2 above to find more appliance spare parts.
